Whew- what a weekend! It was a great one. On Saturday, my mom picked up Scarlett so she could spend the night with her since Bryan and I were hosting our first dinner party (complete with blue tumbler cups from Wal-Mart! Ghetto, I know!) Let me explain why we hosted the dinner party... the youth at our church are fervently raising money to go to summer camp in Florida. At church we had dinner auctions that people could "bid" on. All money raised went to help sponsor a student to go to camp. I have to say our menu was mouth watering. I can't take all the credit, my dad "Chef Larry" is a personal chef and owns his own catering business, prepared a delicious meal from start to finish! We started with bruschetta, then a wedge salad with homemade bleu cheese dressing, for the main course we had chicken piccatta with fresh green beans and garlic mashed potatoes, and then for the finale: BANANAS FOSTER!! My stomach was so full and happy! I really had a great time with our good friends from church, they are a second family to us.
Meanwhile, back at Nana's house Scarlett was being spoiled rotten. She got to watch all the cartoons she could endure, got new shoes and several new outfits (courtesy of Nana and Papa's bank account, of course!) She even got to sip her own cup of coffee...ohhh brother, the things grandparents let their grandchildren do!! Nana bought her a new flower pool to play in, and they took the dogs for a walk down to the bay:) Here is the collage I made on Picnik of our fantastic weekend!
