Ok I admit it- I was one of those people who vowed to NEVER let my child eat McDonalds more than twice per month or wear characters on their clothing. I caved in...lets just face it McDonalds is convenient and GOOD! Who can resist their salty, crispy fries? And, they are trying to get healthier- they have apple wedges and apple juice. Thats got to count for something right? Oh yea- and their chicken nuggets are all white meat now, no boot looking dark meat nuggets that we grew up eating. SO to justify myself- no never mind I don't have to- Me and my child LOVE McDonalds. I guess I'll just have to throw in an extra set of 50 crunches when I eat there!
On to the characters...Scarlett LOVES Yo Gabba Gabba. It is a t.v. show on Nick Jr. where this skinny black guy with a fro comes in carrying this boombox. When he sets it down and opens it up 5 little characters are exposed: Muno, Toodie, Plex, Foofa, and Brobee. I have watched countless episodes and I have to say it...I LOVE Yo Gabba Gabba too! The show has great themes like Don't bite your friends, share, fun, eat, etc. They even sing this one song "There's a party in my tummy...so yummy...so yummy!" I think it is cute to watch Scarlett dance and sing along with the characters. So that leads me to humble my fashionable self and let my daughter wear Yo Gabba Gabba characters on her clothing. If it makes her happy- I am happy too. Hey- being a parent sure has changed my mind about alot of things. So to all of you out there cringing at those characters on shoes and shirts- I at one time was with you, but now I have crossed over to the dark side of nuggets and Gabba land.

Gabba gabba is wonderful! I love that show too. I think they do a great job of teaching children in a very fun way. Yeah they sing about not biting and eating your food and sharing, but that is where our kids are. Those are their little struggles in life. I say let her wear the shirt if that brings a smile to her sweet little face. I still have not crossed over to character shoes yet though... I know I will have to someday, I just walk really fast down that isle so hopefully Luke won't notice those...
Jodi, I feel like everything I knew to be true in this world is gone. Characters on your child's clothing? *sigh* What has the world come to. :) "With the pitter patter of little feet come 50 million words to eat!" so true, so true. By the way, McDonald's is the only way Lorelai gets through grocery shopping at wal-mart!
Our whole family rocks out to "There's a party in my tummy, so yummy, so yummy..." most Saturdays! There are some cute Youtube versions of that song. Can't comment on the McDonalds b/c my youngest is trying to eat toilet paper right now.
This post is soooo funny to me because Sloan LOVES, I mean LOVES, Yo Gabba Gabba! She doesn't watch tv very often but if it is on and Gabba is on she is dancing and singing. We have their DVD and I play it in my car...she sings certain songs and does certain hand motions at the appropriate times. I love it...aren't our kiddos so much fun?! So glad to know we aren't the only mommy and daughter rockin' out to "snacky, snack, snack, snack, snack..."!
