Whats in a name?

God has brought to my attention recently that He has a name picked out for me! How exciting is that? I have never really thought that I would have an "alternate" name given to me by God, but as scripture points out- I do! So in my quest to ask God to reveal His name that He has chosen for me, I have found other names that He has given to people in the bible. There is Simon who Jesus renamed Peter "the rock". There are brothers James and John who Jesus nicknamed " Sons of Thunder". I am sure there are various more, but those are the ones I have learned about thus far.

I have done a little research to find out what my name means:
Jodi- Hebrew- Female- Form of JOANNE.- God is Gracious. Then I looked up the word gracious: pleasantly kind, benevolent,courteous, merciful or compassionate. It is really cool to find out what your name means! But I can't wait for God to reveal the name that HE calls me!

Yes, I see that God is so gracious to me. He comforts me when I am afraid and hurting. He is patient with the fact that I can't see past my sins sometimes. He quiets my ever racing mind. He gave me the gift of a forgiving and loving husband. He gave me the gift of life from my womb. He restores my past and leads me into the future. God is gracious. I am looking forward to God revealing more to me! To revealing HIS name for me! When He does, I will let you know!
