Out of all the things to eat...

My child chooses LIMA BEANS! Now let me tell you she has been a finicky eater from day 1 of her life. She will eat- but not at a normal pace, time, or location. So being the good mother that I am trying to be- I introduce new foods to her every so often. One day I thought I would go out on a limb and heat up some lima beans for her along with her lunch. She HATED them. She would stick one in her mouth and then practically gag to get it back out. Talk about a drama queen.
SOOOO...a couple of days later (which was yesterday) I saw the lonely beans sitting so sad-like in the fridge. I took them out and set them on the counter to dump them in the trash. Scarlett was in the kitchen also- playing with measuring cups and other tupperware items that I had just organized. So much for that. Anyway- I thought to myself "I wonder if she would try this again..." so I looked at her and said "Scarlett do you want a bean?" She looked at me and said "bean?" I said "Yes, good bean!" and gave her an ice cool, straight from the fridge lima bean.
SHE LOVED IT! HA! Now it is her favorite "snack". Who in the world likes cold lima beans?
My child.
Here she is with her new fav "snack" in a measuring cup. She thinks they are pretty important.

Happy monster!

scarlett....that's gross. Maybe her aversion to food is that it is being forced upon her. Perhaps if you just set it out from day to day, she would think she was "discovering" it herself and eat it. This is too funny!

That is hilarious! It's so much fun to get to know their little personalities. Lima beans...I'll have to try those on Audrey.

Gah. We must have twins. Try ice cold butter beans. Audrey loves them.

She is the most picky eater ever. Here is the list of foods she will eat: avocado, deli ham (gag), butter beans, cheese, plain pasta, and fruit.

We rotate and give her vitamins every day. What can a mom do, right?
